LDAD and the States United Democracy Center have submitted a bar complaint to the District of Columbia’s Office of Disciplinary Counsel (ODC), requesting an investigation into John Eastman’s attempts to discredit and overturn the 2020 election.

The complaint was signed by a bipartisan group of prominent attorneys, including former presidents of the D.C. Bar, former federal judges and Justice Department officials, and White House ethics advisors from both the Bush and Obama administrations.

The ODC has already filed charges against attorneys Rudolph Giuliani and Jeffrey Clark for their involvement in efforts to overturn the 2020 election ——ethical breaches that undermine our democracy.  LDAD had previously filed an ethical complaint against Mr. Giuliani in New York and, along with States United, against Mr. Eastman in California, where he is also admitted. New York has suspended Mr. Giuliani’s law license and is further investigating; similarly, California is now conducting an investigation of Mr. Eastman.

It is time to now hold John Eastman accountable in the District of Columbia where he is also licensed to practice law.
