Rule of Law Advocates Ask Federal Judge to Consider Deputy Attorney General Bove's Conduct

WASHINGTON, D.C. - State Democracy Defenders FundLawyers Defending American Democracy, and a group of legal and ethics experts have filed a motion to submit an amicus brief in Mayor Adams’ federal criminal case. The filing asks the federal judge in the case to consider Deputy Attorney General Emil Bove’s conduct under the Rules of Professional Conduct and the Principles of Federal Prosecution. 

March 19, 2025 Update: LDAD and SFDF also submitted a letter brief in Mayor Eric Adams’s federal criminal case to supplement the amicus brief it previously filed. The new filing urged the federal judge to address the threshold issue of whether the Government’s motion to dismiss the indictment is “tainted with impropriety.”
