LDAD invites you to an important conversation on September 10, 2026, with two former immigration judges recently fired by the administration: former Assistant Chief Immigration Judge Megan R. Jackler, lead plaintiff in Jackler v. Merit Systems Protection Board, and former Immigration Judge and Vice President of the National Association of Immigration Judges (NAIJ), Jeremiah Johnson.

LDAD filed an amicus brief in this case arguing that the removal of the judges without cause threatens longstanding federal civil service protections.

This discussion will be moderated by Professor Jill E. Family, an internationally recognized scholar in immigration and administrative law at Widener University Commonwealth Law School.

The webinar will address fundamental questions about the administration's efforts to reshape the immigration courts – including its dismissal of more than 100 immigration judges since January 2025. These actions have raised profound implications for judicial independence, due process, and the rule of law.
